Ten on Tuesday

1. The extended Thanksgiving weekend was very enjoyable.

2. Decided to go with the four pies after all. (Pumpkin, apple, cherry and chocolate.) The chocolate was the first one to be polished off.

3. Watched two movies over the break too, Super Eight and the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I was skeptical whether the Pirates movie would be as good as its predecessors since sequels rarely are. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

4. Also played Apples to Apples. Didn't win the game but I had to laugh at the cards that I ended up with.  (Quite the combination.)

5. Saturday, Josh and I were up bright and early for a cub scout activity. Seven am seems so much earlier on a Saturday.

6. We went to Construction City. Dozens of scouts and leaders construct buildings made of over sized cardboard.
 7. Then they get to tear them all down. (The boys are quite enthusiastic about that last part.)

8. I think the only disappointing part of the weekend was the shopping (or rather the lack of it.) I'm definitely not one to brave the Black Friday shopping, but usually get at least a few good deals online.

9. This year? Nada. Not even one thing.

10. Gifts are also the theme of this week's layout.
Journaling:
Every year, we ask the boys to write out a Christmas list. It helps give us some ideas when we go shopping. This year, Josh was having some trouble coming up with anything to put on his list. I decided to help him out by going through some categories.

Books?
No.
Toys?
No.
Clothes?
(Just gives me the get-real-mom look.)
Candy?
Yes. Candy would be good.
Computer things?
No.
Video games?
Not really. I guess there just isn’t anything I want this year.
(This is where I savor the moment and enjoy his lack of materialism. The moment didn’t last long.)
I guess you and Dad can just give me cash this year.

Credits here. (And at the rate I'm going, maybe I should take him up on his idea.)

Why am I not surprised that the chocolate was finished first? J's discussion was cute (and inspiring). These guys are still at the "everything is GREAT" stage. Literally,we could turn on the tv and buy whatever appears on the next commercial and they would be happy.

I agree that there wasn't anything good to buy online this year (and I don't shop on Black Friday either!) Oh and I {heart} Apples to Apples - so fun!
